Mike, Tim, Seth and me hiked up Steamboat Mountain today. Tomorrow is the first day the lifts are going to run, but it looked like there's plenty of snow to be had today. It's about a 3 hour hike to the top, but not too difficult. Tim had his two dogs with him and they loved it!





We planned to ski Chute 1, one of the steeper chutes Steamboat has to offer. Mike went first and triggered a little avalanche that pretty much went across the entire chute. He got out of the way in time, but one of the dogs got caught. Nothing happened, though. If you look closely at the next pictures you can see the snow starting to slide.

It was a pretty good day all in all.
